Linux Openelec 4 Beta 1
#1
Hi,

I have Openelec 3.2 on a USB stick into a NUC Celeron. I wish to update to new Openelec 4 Beta. I have my XBMC settings saved onto an external source.

Can I simply download the new Openelec version (OpenELEC Beta - Generic x86_64)

onto a brand new USB3 stick and then restore the XBMC settings?

Thank you.

Gotham does not provide a fluent upgrade from Frodo to gotham, e.g. your audio settings won't be ported.

In OE special case, you also have binary addons installed in your .xbmc directory. Those need to be reinstalled.

Do a new installation with the new stick and test that a while.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Thanks.

If I do a new installation on a new stick and find it is not working to my liking, can I simply turn my NUC off and boot it with the OLD usb3 stick?
