Linux DTS-HD does not work
#1
Hi Guys,

Just got my new Denon X2000 AVR Big Grin
Quite happy with it, but one thing bothers me:

When i try to watch a movie in DTS-HD or DTS-HD MA, there is no Audio Huh
When i disable "DTS-HD capable receiver" in the System -> Settings, the audio playback works!

I tried to lookup what requirements there are for DTS-HD, and i think i fulfill them all.
My Setup is a Media Center PC with the following components:
ASRock H61M-ITX with HDMI 1.4a connector
Celeron G530 CPU
XBMCbuntu
HDMI 1.4 cable
Denon X2000 (DTS-HD capable)
XBMC 12.0

My Audio Settings are:
Audio output: HDMI
Speaker configuration: 2.0
Boost volume level on downmix: yes
Output stereo to all speakers: no
AC3 capable receiver: yes
DTS capable receiver: yes
AAC capable receiver: yes
Multichannel LPCM capable receiver: yes
TrueHD capable receiver: yes
DTS-HD capable receiver: yes
Audio Output device: HDA Intel PCH, HDMI#2
Passthrough output device: HDA Intel PCH, HDMI#2

Any idea what might cause the issue? Sad

regards

after half a year i finally found the solution Blush

it looks like the HD 2000 video chip inside of the Celeron G530 can only bitstream HD Audio when the display refresh rate is set to exactly 24Hz

tested on:
Windows 7 Pro 64bit and XBMCbuntu 13
XBMC 13.2
Intel Celeron G530
ASRock H61M-ITX (90-MXGJJ0-A0UAYZ)

post a Debug Log from the linux machine.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
