Had the system working with a GT 210 card.

I just replaced the card with GT 610 card. Should be no problem.

Now there is no sound. Can't figure it out.

Any ideas

OS? Drivers? Settings?

Sorry, XBMCbuntu Frodo with Nvidia drivers.

As I mentioned previously, the GT 210 card worked fine. The only issue was that I had to go into Alsamixer and unmute the volume controls on the Nvidia card.

I shut the system down, changed the card, rebooted.

I've also tried

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

The video portion works fine, but alsa mixer doesn't seem to recognize the new card. It's just seeing the onboard Intel audio.

What is the output of aplay -l ?
Have you read this? http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Lin...nd_in_XBMC

Does the sound work outside of XBMC?
