What is the best way to get a monitor with only a DVI and VGA connection in it working withh A android box (with HDMI and VGA connector) in combination with xbmc (no linux).Because I've bought an adapter wich converts HDMI to DVI, but that does not work, because the image is only partially shown and the text isn't seeable, because they are to unsharp. And for the record, I use a 1080 rom, so I can occasionally move to the box to the living room

HDMI to DVI, because they are electrically compatible. Literally, there is no "conversion" between HDMI and DVI. Why it doesn't work for you, I do not know.

So you can run a 1080 p rom on a 4:3 monitor. Maybe the problem is just my monitor.
