Hi all, After weeks of researching android boxes i'm still not convinced, too many cons at the moment still.

I think I will bite the bullet and NUC.

I've no interest in 3d, I just need to know if 1080p MKV will be ok, up to say 20mbits a sec.

Also a skin like Aeon Nox.

The box is used just for watching movies over ethernet and things like Snes emulators etc

Usually when I see 'celeron' i run a mile, but I am thinking that this might be ok in 2014

Yeah, Celeron is just a marketing term for Intel at this point. Any of the NUCs should be able to handle most 1080 MKVs. At the very least, they'll do a lot better than any Android box, and the NUCs (and other similar units) are generally a better bang-for-your-buck.
