Video Review of ServerWMC with Matricom MX2
#1
I puchased a matricom mx2 android set top box and I was able to get it to work with ServerWMC. So with this little box, I'm able to watch live hd tv through my comcast subscription and I'm still able to access android apps such as netflix and youtube. This little box does it all! It even comes with a remote and works really well. Also I'm thinking about buy a couple more of these boxes for other rooms in my house, I just need to get an ethernet cord to those rooms. Thank you guys so much for your hard work on this great software

Very cool. Like the video review too. That seems like a good choice to replace my windows clients since it includes netflix. Thanks for posting this.

Interesting, I had been thinking of getting an Intel NUC, this looks like it might be a good alternative.

On the amazon page I noticed a little footnote that said 1080P content is downscaled to 720P. Thats a deal breaker for me... Although expensive, the NUC is defnitely my pick. I now have 2 NUCs (a haswell i3 4010 in the media room and a bay trail celeron 2820 in the family room) and will plan on getting a 3rd celeron for the bedroom to replace a miniITX pentium G620 HTPC... then all clients will be NUCs. I run windows 8.1 on mine, but only because it's easy to setup and I can get the licenses through my MSDN subscription so it doesnt add a cost to the build. Ill play with OpenElec at some stage but it just looks to be more difficult to do pretty much everything on OE compared to windows, and since cost of windows isnt a factor for me, it is much easier for me to just run win 8.1 where all the drivers, remotes etc just work and I can access the file system in the normal way Smile

I have just began reading about ServerWMC a couple of weeks ago. I have seen your video which is a big help, thanks for posting. I have a setup much like yours with WMC and Xbox 360 Extenders. I am surprised I cannot find more video reviews of ServerWMC. I have been looking at purchasing my first Android t.v. box and it's possible uses. There is a new up and coming powerful SOC the Amlogic S802-H which is showing huge potential running on an Android 1080P kernel. Tronsmart has already started releasing some non -H boxes, but I am waiting for Minix to release the Neo X8s soon, it's on my wish list for pre-order. Freaktab has been discussing the hardware, link here Minix is now stating they have not only H264 hardware decoding but 4k2k hardware decoding working on a custom version of XBMC. How well do you think this box will work with ServerWMC?
