I am trying to add an additional share to xbmcbuntu. I know I can add them through samba to create one but, I was wondering how xbmc creates them because all the normal configuration files for samba are empty but, there are still the default shares.

So there is nothing in /etc/samba/smb.conf?

xbmc does not create samba shares, the OS does via samba. Xbmc itself is only a smb client.
