Linux LiveTV freeze/slowdown with xbmc-pvr-myth-cymth
#1
is anyone else experiencing this? i've seen a few old threads, but they either weren't replied to or the problem 'went away' with new builds.

xbmc version: 13.0~git20140131
xbmc-pvr-mythtv-cmyth version: 1.9.15
cap card: Ceton InfiniTV 4
setup: frontend and backend are on the same pc
os: ubuntu

everything is setup and working correctly (EPG, recordings using mythweb, etc) except that sometimes when we're watching LiveTV it will slow to 1fps with no audio (or seems to freeze outright). at the time of the slowdown/freeze, the log shows:

Code:
21:32:29 T:140143826556672 WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(audio)::Get - asked for new data packet, with nothing available
21:32:30 T:140144056899328 WARNING: Previous line repeats 4 times.
21:32:30 T:140144056899328 WARNING: CDVDMessageQueue(video)::Get - asked for new data packet, with nothing available
21:32:32 T:140143826556672   ERROR: CDVDAudio::AddPacketsRenderer - timeout adding data to renderer
21:32:33 T:140143826556672   ERROR: Previous line repeats 1 times.
21:32:33 T:140143826556672   ERROR: AddPackets - failed to add leftover bytes to render

this has happened while watching several different programs on several different channels. rewinding or pausing/unpausing does not fix it, it must be stopped and restarted or the channel changed. while it's slowed/frozen, the backend continues recording the video properly. other players (and xbmc itself) can play the recording properly after i stop LiveTV stream and i can't reproduce the problem watching LiveTV with mythfrontend, so i'm thinking it's some sort of buffering or other issue with xbmc-pvr-myth-cmyth itself.

anyone have any input or suggestions?

I have not seen this, but I do note your xbmc version is a bit old.
If I have helped you or increased your knowledge, click the 'thumbs up' button to give thanks :) (People with less than 20 posts won't see the "thumbs up" button.)

good point - updated. dpkg is now reporting 14.0~git20140426, so i'll leave some LiveTV running and report back if it happens again.

hasn't happened since the upgrade, so fingers crossed but hopefully it's good.
