Linux Mint 14, Update to Gotham failed
#1
I've been happily running Frodo on my Linux Mint desktop computer, and I was excited when I got the notification of the update to Gotham. Unfortunately, after the "update", XBMC is gone, its even been removed from the main menu. I get the following message:
Quote:The following packages have unmet dependencies:
xbmc : Depends: python-bluez but it is not installable or
python-lightblue but it is not installable
Depends: libshairplay0 but it is not going to be installed
Recommends: libva-intel-vaapi-driver but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Is this a Mint problem? Where do I begin?

Yes. We have no ppa for Mint, so only chance: build it from source.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Mint is based on Ubuntu, so XBMC PPA works fine. But that was few months ago I tried.

Depending on which mint you have, it's debian based or ubuntu based or something in between.
