I'm using a Panasonic remote with my Pi and hope to keymapit via http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=keymap for media streaming.

I'm following the instructions as per that link but not sure if I can expect it to work with my (all?) remotes or just programmable ones ?

Also, I'm told Pause, FF, rewind etc can be done with single keypress. At the moment the OSD shows and you move to the
required icon, then back to Play. With the remote setup properly do you still need to move around in the OSD ?
