X Anime TV Show
#1
Hi all.

Im really stumped here. Please excuse my lack of XBMC and computer vocabulary.

Im running Aeon Nox on Gotham. Brand new install on two machines with exactly the same issue.

I have removed and installed all sources and each time XBMC scans it adds all my TV shows as one show called X (T.V. Show). An anime show.

I dont have any anime at all in my collection.

All my movies and TV shows are on the one drive.

I add the source, set it to movies but i do not allow it to start scanning.

I go back to Files and find the folder containing the TV shows, Set Content and change it to TV shows. I dont allow scanning yet.

I return to Files and hit Scan For New Content.

And thats when X shows up as all my TV shows. One show with all episodes under X.

Now, if i Stop Scan. Go to Videos, TV Shows, select X and Remove From Library and allow XBMC to scan, it scans in the TV shows correctly.

Here is an example of how all of my TV show folders are set up: I:\T.V. Series\Breaking Bad\Breaking Bad Season 1

The I drive does contain other folder with movies in them by the content for the entire drive minus the TV folder is set to Movies. The TV folder is set to TV Shows.

I have set all my NFO files up with Ember and i have searched my TV shows folder with Agent Ransack for anything with the letter X in it and it finds nothing.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

I have my library to update on start up.

I remove X from the TV library, Clean the Library, restart XBMC, XBMC scans and the X TV show reappears. See image.

Here is the LOG that shows me removing the TV show:

And here is the LOG restarting XBMC when the tv show is added back in.

Thanks.

smb://simon/i/X/

Go into Videos -> Files -> and navigate to that folder so you can select it. Then bring up the context menu and select "change content" (or "set content" and make sure that "folder contains a single show" isn't selected, and then press okay to save the settings. By setting content directly on that folder we should be able to get XBMC to stop seeing it as a TV show.

Thanks but still no good.

smb://simon/i/X/ includes 2 movies in it and has its content set to Movies.

Each time a rescan the TV show called X is added to the TV Shows. But it has no episodes in it.

Weird. When the X show is scanned in, select it and get info on it (press i or context menu -> info) and see what it says under "path".

hey.

It does nothing.

For instance, if i hit Show TV Show Information in Breaking Bad it gives me a breakdown of it in a new window.

If i do the same with X, the window dosnt change....

Like it has no path.

Weird hey?

It all seems fixed now.

I dont know why its working but this is what i did.

I had a 2 part TV Mini Series in a movie folder.

I moved that to the TV show folder and named it correctly. Scraped it with Ember and updated the XBMC library.

The new TV show ended up under the X TV show title as two episodes.

I selected Manage on the X TV show and refreshed the info with local info and it set itself to the correctly titled TV show and the X TV show disappeared.

I restarted, updated, cleaned and the X T.V show no longer appears.

Its all working now but i dont understand why what i did fixed it.
