I'll have to give the build a shot then, I'll report back.

This one has funny behaviour, when I select the Traktor Audio 6 as output the music track runs through in a few seconds. No audio though. Built in device works. On to the next version...

Same behaviour as the previous, on to the next.

This one should really fix it...

Nope, same behaviour again. This evening I chose just to overwrite the previous app, instead installing after a full delete (with app delete) as with my previous tests. I can retest with a full delete if needed. Please let me know. I am kinda busy tonight, I can do it this this weekend.

Please post a debug log (wiki) while using this test version and report back:

Sorry for the delay.
The first time it crashed while starting the music.

Code:
21:07:37 T:4507164672   DEBUG: GetAEChannelMap Engine requests layout FL,FR
21:07:37 T:4507164672   DEBUG: GetAEChannelMap trying to map to multichannel layout: [Unknown] [Unknown] [Unknown] [Unknown] [Unknown] [Unknown]
21:07:37 T:4507164672   DEBUG: GetAEChannelMap mapped channels to layout UNKNOWN1,UNKNOWN2,UNKNOWN3,UNKNOWN4,UNKNOWN5,UNKNOWN6

Have you set a proper channel map in osx-midi-setup? (as this device has more then 2 channels we are using the multichannel map - you can configure both - the stereo map and the multichannel map in audio-midi-setup).

Also please post a screenshot of your audiomidisetup - does that card have multiple streams? (e.x. subdevices)

It works! I never configured the multi channel map. As non of the apps I use (VLC, Chrome, iTunes, etc) required it, I was never triggered to do so.

How ever, if I test the version that is currently available for download on the XBMC website http://xbmc.org/download/ the original issue returns. I have put back the version I have tested the first time yesterday and it works again. Which version should I continue to use?

THANKS!!!

I wrote here that airplay does not work and it did not, but now it does.

Well that channel mapping test version will be hopefully included soon in xbmc mainline (still some cleanup to be done). I will change it so that it also takes the stereo channel map when configured 2.0 in XBMC even if the device has more channels. Thx for the test result Smile

That will be great if gets fixed, cause the version that does work with the right channel mapping has this issue: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=67494

I used to run into those issues when I was running the test builds of frodo with the mavericks crash on launch fix. I essentially disabled all network capabilities that requires it to open ports and trigger the firewall. As I always use XBMC with my IR remote, I didn't really need any of the network features.

But yah, I'm still waiting for the channel mapping fix to reach an official release.
I have since reverted to 12.3, better to have a slightly slower functional XBMC appliance than a faster but slightly broken XBMC appliance.
