Win All Addons Fail to Update or Install
#1
Exclamation
I've been using XBMC Frodo for a couple of months now with no issues. Two weeks ago I was receiving "Script Failed" errors when trying to update addons. I ignored the errors because the main programs I was using worked fine. After finally trying to fix them by re-installing XBMC, all of the programs fail to update. I followed instructions on a clean build using a manual method (program uninstall/delete folders).

I then installed the stable release of Gotham. I didn't receive any script errors after the new install but now they just fail to update. When I try to install them from XBMC.org repo, all installs fail. I installed the fusion repo and tried their fresh-start program (.zip) and it worked to give me a fresh-start, but I am still unable to update or install addons that are part of the xbmc.org repo. I have tried three times to re-install Gotham but achieving the same results.

Nothing comes to mind as to what I changed two weeks ago that started this. My network is working fine as I can reach out from XBMC to fusion.xbmchub.com as well as see the RSS feed on the bottom update. I attempted to start in portable mode as admin. Not sure if did it right but that didn't help.

Here is the log: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=208236

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I'm providing another log that is more up-to-date. http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=209535

Anyone know how to resolve a MD5 mismatch error?

delete every addon from your userdata in the packages/ folder and try again.

and we do not support anything from fusion repo. certainly not "fresh start" as it's pure evil and can/will screw up your system

Alright, I'll do a uninstall/re-install of Gotham to purge my system of evil then I'll delete every addon from userdata. I'll post results once I'm done. Thanks.

I re-installed XBMC 13.0. I then started XBMC and received all updates to all the programs/apps failed.
Here is the log: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=209899

The only packages folder that I could find was located here: "C:\Users\Dan\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\packages"
I deleted the contents and ran XBMC again and tried to update all apps as well as install an app just for log purposes. All failed.
Here is the log: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=209900

I then did something dumb and deleted ALL addons from everywhere out of an act of desperation. Lesson learned; killed XBMC so I re-installed again. Where is this folder path? "special://home/addons/packages/" I figured this might translate to my "C:\Program Files (x86)\XBMC\addons" folder and deleted the ones causing errors from there. Restarted XBMC and while they are no longer there, I could not install them again as all the installs fail due to the same MD5 error in the logs. http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=209914

I've replaced everything I messed up so I'm back to square one. I just need to find the folder path the logs are listing so I can try your method.

I deleted everything out of the packages folder where the MD5 mismatch is originating. Over 10 addons are failing to update and anything i try to install from this repo fails but there were only 5 addons in the packages folder. I tried to install the youtube addon but that failed as well and I've never installed that addon before. So basically every addon that needs updating or any addon I try to install is hitting the MD5 mismatch ERROR. I figured maybe the files are hidden but that was not the case.

Where are the MD5 hashes stored on my PC that XBMC is seeing that I'm not so I can delete the old ones?

I turned on logging. I deleted most of the music/movie/show lines because I didn't feel they would help out much and take up room.
Here is the latest log: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=210652

I recreated what I usually do of going into XBMC, letting it load, head to settings/addons, then attempt to update everything as well as install a couple of programs, then exiting out.

OK, next. Try to download this using a web browser
http://mirrors.xbmc.org/addons/frodo/met...-1.2.4.zip

and see from which server it tries to download (you will be redirected to nearest server). it should tell in the confirm download dialog.

you can see more info here
http://mirrors.xbmc.org/addons/frodo/met...mirrorlist
which lists closed server. Than can narrow down if the issue is there.

Martijn, YOU DID IT!!! Everything works fine now. I updated all the addons and I was able to download two addons that I was not able to prior to your fix. Thanks for your help! Let me know if you need the log or if there is anything else i can provide to help out. Thanks again!
