Simple few button IR remote

Hi
Not to make any advertisement, the Slice a new media player on kickstart has a small RF remote with dongle.
If read it correctly you can also buy this remote separate as a replacement in the future

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/fiv...r-and-more

I read "If you Pledge £15 or more you get one"

It's not a remote I particularly like and to be fair I think you can get something a lot better for 15 pounds, which is like 25 USD?
Minix has a very similar remote which can be had for about half the money;

And off it resembles the Radxa Rock from the opening post a lot more.

Also to be fair about that project... you really want something better than a raspi, albeit in a nice box.
It's simply to slow and only good to experiment with or when you really don't need fancy menus and hd content.
Sold my raspi for that very same reason and now building me something better itv based (an intel nuc isn't that much fun to me, got to be able to tinker with it Tongue)

But please come with more ideas for tiny remotes, just love them and they make a great additional to a raspi if you're really into it or any small streaming box.

You can!
Read here and watch the youtube video; http://www.pulse-eight.com/store/product...apter.aspx
Got it on my main htpc and it works great.

They also have an internal module if your motherboard supports it:

This and the flirc are probably the best possible pieces of hardware you could get for your kodi setup.
Oh and besides cross remote use and be able to turn on/off everything at once the volume of your receiver can be controlled as well Wink
For me no stupid universal remotes with seas of buttons thank you very much, these simple remotes will do just fine.

Just some I found I'll show before I'll stop hijacking this thread Tongue

Simply called G61A and no clue what brand, it's all over ebay for 10-15 USD

In black or blue the K0222A or LS4G

Image

The M8/EM8 android box remote which sells for just 6 USD on ebay
Bit more buttons but I quite like it, button layout is quite good as well.
The number buttons can be quite nice for live tv if you're into that.

This one has to be mentioned, the amazon firetv remote with bluetooth.
To bad xbmc had no use for the speech button but still it's not bad at all and actually works already with xbmc.

Besides these there are some really not particularly well made remotes from mainly white plastic used for random chinese android boxes.
As cheap as they look you probably won't want to use them anyway.

Also some chinese boxes use this kind of remote but keys seem to greatly differ:

It looks decent enough, just don't know how to reference to it.

It’s one of the many options and a lot of them use the same hardware and only and differ in exterieur. (not all)
Look and feel is different for everybody, I use a logitech harmony for many years and i'm perfectly happy with it on my first gen NUC.

Do you use it with Flirc? Is it good? Can you share a mapping and config for lirc?
