ARM or X86

Question
Hey guys,
I couln't find an answer so here's a quick question.
I'd like to put Gotham on my Android-pc(HDMI stick) and Xperia Z1.
I have experience with XMBC, but not as much as most of you.
Which version do I use. ARM or x86. And if it wouln't be to much to ask, what is the difference?

Thanks!

It's almost always ARM.

You only want x86 if it has an Intel or AMD processor inside, but the vast majority of Android devices run on ARM-based processors (various names).

It will tell you if you installed the wrong version too...
