how much better is j1900 vs j1800? all I want to do is run openelec and have addons load really fast. I won't be using any other features really

cost of j1800 £46.05

cost of j1900 £60.54

so an increase of 31%. but j1800 has a higher clock speed. does being a quad core back it that much better? thankyou

thanks xbs, i've already seen that, but wanted a users perspective, im almost settled on the J1800 MoBo. for my needs, I think it will suit me and I rather get the price down as possible.

The J1800 is faster than the N2820 so I guess it will work just fine.

I definitely noticed a difference in interaction with Windows 7 x64 but I've only tried OpenELEC on the J1800 and it was plenty fast.

BTW, Gigabyte J1800 BIOS is a PITA. I'd go with ASRock or another brand.

thanks dougie but nothing comes close in price for that MoBo (for an J1800) plus Mark has gotten his working and said he'll give me a hand if I run into anything.
