You've asked such a generalised question that it's impossible to give a reasonable answer. The most likely reason is because you don't know how to set up XBMC correctly.
If you can provide an example, a screenshot/frame comparison and which set of settings you're using then we can help. It took me a few months to get used to XBMC and the vast array of settings; that was before the wiki had any real use for first time users, however.
