OS X Doesn't recognizes replaygained lossless files as replaygained files.
#1
OS: Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9
XBMC: 13.1 “Gotham” also tested in 13.2 “Gotham” beta1

there is "replaygain adjustment" function in system > settings > music > playback.

it features one is for preamp for replaygained files and the other is preamp for nonreplaygained files.

in my case, I usually play aac, alac, aiff, flac, wav and mp3 in music folder.

i set two preamp to 89db but volume doesn't same between lossless and lossy(mp3).

i found out that my lossless files are recognized as non-replaygained files in XBMC even if I replaygained it all along mp3 files by ivolume app or beatunes app, itunes.
(I tried to adjust preamp for nonreplaygained files to 77db, it works for my lossless files not lossy, so I realized XBMC recognize my lossless files as non-replaygained files because "Preamp for replaygained files" doesn't work for it)

So, problems is that
#1. XBMC doesn't recognizes replaygained lossless files (recognize as non-replaygained)

#2. "Preamp for replaygained files" and "Preamp for non-replayganined files", which volume is differenct(not same).
If I set these two to 89db, but volume is not same as 89db.

"Preamp for non-replaygained files" is much more loud than other.

I more found out that lossless files are gained by using "Preamp for non-replaygained files" but, doesn't normalized.

PS: I don't know why...

It is pretty hard to find bitperfect+replaygain player for Mac OS X.

Not even amarra, audirvana, pure music, fidelity etc other hifi player doesn't have both replaygain and bitperfect.
(this players only support bitperfect play, but i want replaygain and bitperfect)

jriver support bitperfect+replaygain but does not even support drag n drop from finder. it's terrible.(this is even paid player)

decibel support bitperfect+replaygain but not support replaygain(cannot read replaygain tag correctly) (this is also paid player, is terrible)

itunes isn't bitperfect player.

Replaygain is somewhat randomly specified and utilised (like a lot of tagging stuff), so what XBMC reads is probably just different to whatever app you used to write it.

I suggest looking in the tags themselves so you know what you're dealing with and go from there.
Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting.
Do not e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.
