Microsoft official Windows MCE keyboard support?
#1
Question
i don't know if this is possible hardwarewise, but i guess it should be.

xbmc allready supports the microsoft dvd kit remote for the xbox. is'nt it possible to use the ir reciever unit to recieve signals from the mce keyboard.

i've read somewhere that you're intergrating linksboks in xbmc; in combination with an ir keyboard like the ms mce one xbmc should be ideal for tv browsing.

does anyone know if the reciever has a fixed frequency?

i doubt that the ir keyboard is rc-5 compliant. but just use a usb wireless keyboard.
read the xbmc online-manual, faq and search the forums before posting! do not e-mail the xbmc-team asking for support!
read/follow the forum rules! note! team-xbmc never have and never will host or distribute ms-xdk binaries/executables!

if the keyboard comes with a separate ir receiver is is likely that it is standard ir.

you can buy a usb-uirt (or redrat or others) for your pc and read the codes using the utility that comes with it.
I'm not an expert but I play one at work.

i believe xbmc already has a function to identify ir remote codes. don’t know if it can only read rc5. just use the keyboard en look if xbmc shows anything.
