I'm playing an album in my "Favorites", I'd like to see what other albums the artist has, I hit the menu button, but one of the options is not "See Artist", or similar. Could this be a thing?

Also, in most of the listings by album, the artist isn't shown, so I can see the name of the album, but I have no idea who the artist is. Could the listing show "<artist> - <album>", or "<album> - <artist>" (depending on which makes more sense for the current area being viewed).

thanks!

to expand on this. I just tried the "Recommended"/"New" section, and a similar, possibly more annoying, issue exists, in that if I go to, say, Recommended Albums, I have no way of seeing who the artist is from any of the three available views without selecting the album, then choosing "Media Info" view to view the information for the track.

I'm looking through the code for the plugin, but it's not clear to me whether the plugin has any control over how the different lists display? Is this something that has to be modified through the a Kodi setting?

Fixed recommended/new in v1.2.1. It didn't set the correct content type. It should show artist in media info view now. Other than that, it's really up to the skin to choose what to show. The plugin just provides the data.

Great!
So the theme would define how each entry line in the different view is shown (ie if it shows just the album name, or album name concatenated with the artist?) I'm trying to figure out where to concentrate my efforts in figuring out how to get things to display how I'd like them to.

thanks!!

Did it stop working randomly today, or was is the recent add-on update that broke it? It the latter, try signing out and in again.

I also have the problem where it fails to open the stream.

I get an error on most songs I try to play but it works on the occasional song. I have the quality set to "Lossless".

This is a new install today with a new tidal h-fi account. I've tried logging in and logging back out but still get the same.

Code:

I don't really know. I didn't play for a few days.
I tried the following things:
- Logout and in
- Re-install addon
- Tried to go back to version 1.1.1

It works on high quality and low for both versions.

Where can i find the errorlog? Maybe that helps to locatie the problem?

The most important part is whether version 1.1.1 still works or not. If it does, I can probably fix it. If not, then something has probably changed on the Tidal side which is hard for me to investigate as I don't have a 'lossless' account.

Perhaps @matthuisman or @theli_ua can investigate?

I can confirm that Tidal has now decided not to stream LOSSLESS as FLAC-streams anymore. Most of the LOSSLESS is now an encrypted binary stream that is being decrypted by a PNaCl module (web player). Our best bet would probably be to contact Tidal. There are so many people using Kodi that we might have a chance to get our own token (or a library (already compiled) to convert the encrypted binary stream to PCM data).

it was bound to happen, but I'll sign the petition (or whatever else needs to be done) to request Kodi support from them, especially since they don't have any good way of using their service with a basic tv connected Android device.

I'm excited to see what happens to this case. I was working on a media box myself when they started encrypting the streams, and I am going to make it work again some way or another. The worst case scenario is having to run Chrome in the background (there is a NaCl module decrypting the stream and outputting PCM data directly to the speakers). However since this module is available already, just in a format that is difficult to implement in custom applications, I would suppose it be not too hard to get a similar module compiled to run on x86, x86-64 and ARM from Tidal. If they are doing this to prevent people from saving the FLAC-files to disk, there is nothing they can do to stop people from tapping into the raw PCM stream and converting that to FLAC. So in the end I don't see any reason why Tidal wouldn't give out compiled libraries to convert the encrypted stream into a PCM stream. This means that only people who know a little about computers will be able to download the music to disk, which is already the case.

So to sum this up, I believe Tidal started encrypting their FLAC-streams to prevent the average Joe from downloading the FLAC files by just downloading a Chrome Extension from Chrome Store. A more advanced user will always be able to tap into the PCM stream. So I believe we will get a compiled module or something similar to make both Kodi and my own private media box work again. I'll stand by for a couple of weeks, and if Kodi doesn't do anything, I will send an email to Tidal myself and hope for the best!

I think Kodi isn't going tot do anything. Maybe a good idea tot send tour story tot Tidal?

Hi, your addon works great. Thank you. But I have some requests / suggestions if I may:
- adding funcionality add to (tidal) playlist, and choose playlist
- add to (tidal) favourits (currently I can only add to kodi favourits level)
- go to album root
- go to artist root

Thank you.
