Don't believe - believe is for people in religion. No error is the same without a proper logfile and backtrace as sccplg provided it.

"Your most vocal users are not reflective of your userbase" J.M.

Audio Engine: SPDIF has only 2 pcm channels. DTS, AC3 are encoded via those 2 channels. It's obviously clear that you are not able to change Speaker Layout when running via SPDIF.

@sccplg: Please also tell them that downgrading ffmpeg to an older version 2.2.x does not produce this error.

That's a very good info - if you have more time - you can try to bisect between 1.3.2 and 1.3.1 intel driver - that would be cool :-)

If you need help with bisecting, just contact me on IRC.

Very nice! I added Gwenole , the commiter of this patch, to the bugreport, let's see if he has an idea.

how can i apply the patch, i'm not quite familier with these kind of things, but have one channel which constantly fails (only have sound) which looks like the same error. But before i create a new thread for it i want to test if this patch solves it.

I'd like to know how to apply the patch too as all my intel setups are locking up regularly needing to pull the plug Smile

Cheers!

The VA driver comes from the OS. Xbmc only uses it.
