Root is not needed to install SPMC. Sideload just like you would have done for XBMC.

First video plays perfect "O" shows dctf-h264
Then stop and start same or other video and dc:ff-h264 is used (not watchable).
2nd , 3rd etc..... dc:ff-h264.
All current builds, inc SPMC Gotham Oman Kodi etc.....
all do the same.
Is there anyway around this ? maybe using advancedsetting.xml

Its signature is different from the XBMC one, so both can co-exist on the same device, with separate userdata.

First, AirPlay Screen mirroring does not work for me. My iPad recognises SPMC, but when I select it, nothing comes up on the screen. I've tried on my iPad (iOS 7) and my iPhone (iOS 8).
Second, does SPMC go into sleep mode after 30 minutes? I've noticed that the lights turn off after this period, but I want to clarify if this is the same thing as sleep.
Thanks in advance for your support.
AirPlay mirroring isn't supported in any version of XBMC, SPMC, Kodi, etc.
Fire TV doesn't actually "sleep" in the same way that most things sleep. I'm not even sure if there's even a power usage decrease when the Fire TV "sleeps".
doesnt the fire use 5 watts anyway? hardly worth worrying about at that draw
