[Annoucement][AFTV] SPMC (XBMC spinoff) published in Amazon Appstore
Root is not needed to install SPMC. Sideload just like you would have done for XBMC.
Hi Been trying to use Libstagefright on my S805 box.

First video plays perfect "O" shows dcConfusedtf-h264
Then stop and start same or other video and dc:ff-h264 is used (not watchable).
2nd , 3rd etc..... dc:ff-h264.

All current builds, inc SPMC Gotham Oman Kodi etc.....
all do the same.

Is there anyway around this ? maybe using advancedsetting.xml

Try SPMC 13.3.2 for the time being

You'll have to dig into the logs then, it works fine with all my content.
Ok thanks tdw197, I`ll get the logs.
Here`s the log file.

http://www75.zippyshare.com/v/10841733/file.html

Opened SPMC 13.3.2_nolauncher, open video from usb, worked fine using dcConfusedtf-h264.
Then opened same video and switched to dc:ff-h264.

Exactly same thing happens with online streams.

Can an advancedsettings.xml help ?

Its signature is different from the XBMC one, so both can co-exist on the same device, with separate userdata.

Koying, with Kodi on it's way, will you attempt to publish it directly without any changes to the Amazon Appstore? Or will you continue down the SPMC path?

First, AirPlay Screen mirroring does not work for me. My iPad recognises SPMC, but when I select it, nothing comes up on the screen. I've tried on my iPad (iOS 7) and my iPhone (iOS 8).

Second, does SPMC go into sleep mode after 30 minutes? I've noticed that the lights turn off after this period, but I want to clarify if this is the same thing as sleep.

Thanks in advance for your support.

AirPlay mirroring isn't supported in any version of XBMC, SPMC, Kodi, etc.
Fire TV doesn't actually "sleep" in the same way that most things sleep. I'm not even sure if there's even a power usage decrease when the Fire TV "sleeps".

doesnt the fire use 5 watts anyway? hardly worth worrying about at that draw

The FireTV Stick uses 2w MAX playing a 30mbit Blu-Ray, pretty impressive.
Living Room: ASUS Chromebox / OpeneElec 5 / Kodi 14.2

I replaced Kodi Gotham 13.2 with the latest SPMC launcher version on my Android MX box and I love it. I can launch right to SPMC (bypassing Android Launcher) and it starts up much faster. I also have a small script that automatically launches the FTV addon. It's almost like turning on my Freesat cable box.

I have been trying to find a brief description of what SPMC offers over Kodi but have had no luck. If such a description exists some place, can anyone provide a link? http://spmc.semperpax.com/ shows version history and changes but there is no general description.
First of all, thanks for a great xbmc-fork!

I received my Fire TV yesterday and first installed Kodi RC1 on it, but the video-quality wasn't that great. SPMC 13.3.3 looked a bit better, but 13.3.2 really is the best thus far.

Just to be sure: The best video quality is to be achieved with 13.3.2 with HW-decoding on libstagefrigth only, right?
I have a strange problem with spmc

I sideloaded the app and bought spmc in the app store. After syncing spmc appeared in the start menu in recent

but.. I had to downgrade from 13.3.3 to 13.3.2 because I had problems with live tv stuttering if I tried to see HD Content.

13.3.2 is working fine so far

But after downgrading the spmc icon in recent disappeared.

I went back to 13.3.3 synced my account again but the spmc icon is not shown again.

I have a german Version of firetv with latest firmware
SPMC is shown as not compatible in my Amazon account.

What do I have to do to to get SPMC back in the start menu of the fire tv ?
Would love a release of SPMC that includes the new Amlogic decoding support (to work around the blank-screen issue)... I know the latest beta's of XBMC include this: any SPMC support on the cards?

Thanks for the great work, Koying!

Here's hoping this will one day be implemented in XBMC/SPMC!!
Sure thing Wink
anssi is already working on the same thing. I mailed him the link
