Win Beta Kodi Crashes
#1
Running Windows 7 64 on Intel NUC and 2.0 GB RAM and 32 GB mSATA drive.

I do NOT let Microsoft run Updates. With just the install of Win7, drivers, Media tools, and XBMC, I only have 7 GB free left on the drive. Media all goes to a network storage location.

XBMC Gotham 13.0 was showing pop-ups, complaining that I needed to update to the newer version, so I went online only to see Gotham was only at 13.2, so I went with the beta version:

xbmc-14.0-Helix_alpha2.exe

If XBMC/Kodi sits idle for several minutes, a box will pop up saying XBMC is not responding and needs to close, at which point I am prompted to either debug and close or just close.

Plug-ins I run in XBMC: WMC-server and client from Krusty, no skins (they all seem to cause issues), and nothing else seems to be running when XBMC crashes - like I said, it only does it when the PC has sat idle for a while (30 minutes to an hour or more). It does not always do it.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Data log:

I see errors in the log, but nothing that would make me thing XBMC should just crash.

I'm not a log guru. But I can say Alpha 2 has been very stable for me so far. It's been up and running for over 13 days.

I'm actually super super happy that the jumpy video frame rate bug has now been eradicated. For years when I left it running for a couple days the video started to lag, then eventually the whole computer would freeze. This has now been fixed. Happy happy joy joy.

Only thing I can think of is to update all your drivers to latest versions.

Other than this, is there anything else I can do?

Of course there is. Use the stable release. 13.2

Nobody cares why this version is crashing, then?

Firstly, you aren't using a beta, you're using an ALPHA. So, really, what do you expect? I was using Alpha 2 as well, saw it crashing a lot, put 13.2 back on.

Also that is NOT a debug log. We are all for people pointing out bugs, but you need to give a proper debug log and so on. If you aren't prepared to do that (and many of us just want it to work after all, not everyone has to be a bug hunter) then go back to 13.2.
