i have a jb atv2 with firmware 5.2 and i was thinking of updating
but dont know if anymore firmware has been jailbroken yet

nop you are on the bleeding edge already. (though bring those questions to a jailbreak forum like firecore.com - we are not a support forum for jailbreaking but only XBMC/Kodi).
