Did some testing. Not sure if its my machine at fault, but I was very rarely maxing out the CPU, on mariokart, this tended to be on 2 player, which is hard to grab logs as who wants to show off a system and then make someone wait while you grab a log.

Anyway changing 2 of the default settings fixed this, not been able to test more to identify which one is key. Changing audio buffer to 1024 and changing framerate to fullspeed.

When I try DiddyKong racing, it works perfectly in single player mode with rice plugin. When I play it 2 player, the 2nd players split screen is screwed up photos here: http://imgur.com/a/Q281o wierdly the start menu which overlaps player 1 & 2 renders correctly.

For those interested: I've updated libretro-gl based on garbear's 17alpha1 branch here:
https://github.com/a1rwulf/xbmc/commits/...7alpha1-gl

A lot needs to be fixed like:
* crashes caused by "Cannot load ROM" errors (maybe problems on my system dunno)
* texture sizes are hardcoded right now
* lots of render bugs in various games
