Hangs when connecting or searching for a stream
#1
Hello,

When connecting or searching for a video stream the system can at times hang for quite some time and cause loss of mouse or keyboard access and at times no recovery at all causing you to have to log out or reset in Linux, Task Manager in Windows.

An example would be connecting to lets say a PBS program, if it does not find it as a search or connect right away to the stream the system just sits there loading thus locking the mouse or keyboard access to stop the system's access. This happens guite a bit even on a good 50x50 Internet connection due to the host/source having issues.
This can be quite annoying since you can't move on to something else.

If you can access the mouse or keyboard, clicking on Cancel or pressing Esc key does not have any effect on this. Sure you can hear a beep in some cases, but still no effect to cancel or stop the running search or connection that is hung up.

What would be nice addition is to add a button to stop the access when you still have mouse or keyboard access or a keyboard set such as Ctrl+Shift+S for stop. Something easy for the user to remember. At this time I have Ctrl+Alt+BkSpace to log out which usually works, but that is annoying since you have to restart XBMC.
Maybe even fixing the issue so Cancel will work and not be affected by the hung process.
Even some type of timer that can be set in the Settings panel so it releases the requested process in a reasonable set time.

I have seen many posts on this issue in many different forums complaining about being locked out when this particular issue is happening , most blame XBMC, but the main issue is the host/server not responding or too slow to respond, but there is still no failsafe that actually works to stop the hug up process.

Thanks for reading this request
