Ampersands and Different Access Methods
#1
My XBMC setup uses a shared database to support several clients.

Some of the clients access the media through SMB network connections, and on some (tablets), I use "Path Substitution" in AdvancedSettings.xml so that the files can be accessed through a WebDav share from outside the house.

I'm finding that ampersands in the filename are fine for SMB, but the WebDav clients complain that the file doesn't exist.

I'm guessing that the filename in the database would be properly URL encoded if the scraping was done through WebDav, but I really don't want to maintain multiple databases.

Has anyone else encountered this situation and managed to solve it? I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
