Hey all,
Been troubleshooting this for awhile now and seemed to pin the issue down to hardware acceleration. I just upgraded to Yosemite and did a straight migration from my Mavericks install. Warning, I'm running a hackintosh and I understand this isn't necessarily "supported."
If I turn off hardware acceleration, it looks like everything is fine. If I have it enabled, some videos do play. I have a pretty extensive library with many different filetypes so it's hard to pinpoint it down to a specific file type. I didn't have any issues on Mavericks though.
Let me know if you'd like any more information that I haven't provided.
