With the Bitcasa shutdown, I'm now in the position of having to redo my entire library.
My question: how stable is Kodi currently? Is it worth while jumping on board with Kodi now? Or should I just continue with a full reset of XMBC until the release of Kodi?

Helix is still at alpha. Many people are using it, but frankly if you want stability, use Gotham.

I always run with a nightly build.
The core of xbmc (playing music/videos from local disks and local network) very rarely breaks.
Non default skins, add-ons and PVR do break quite often so if you rely on them, then you'll have to expect breakages on occasion.
If you are happy to help with the testing effort, and willing to submit bug reports (with logs) when you find things that are broken, then that is helpful.
If you just want it to work, then use a stable release.
