[Tricky]

I found a (very) old acer netbook, it runs well and all but I want to connect one of my 3.5" harddisks to it and make it in a server for my media. ( seeing as its very small and quiet)
Now my only question is (seeing as I have to order one of those docking stations for my HDD overseas) if the USB connection will be fast enough to transfer HD video?

are the usb ports of that netbook 2.0 or do you have a usb 3.0 port too ( i doubt it)? in that case you can easily google average usb port speeds.

I have a 3tb HGST hdd in a Plugable docking station connected to one of my android box's usb 2.0 ports to watch movies, etc in xbmc and works great.
My movies though aren't full HD (30+ gb files) no, they are about 8 gb and lower.

Overall it's more than enough.
