Win HVEC Play back OBSERVATION
#1
I upgraded to the Helix Beta 24 hrs ago,

I am running an AMD Phenom II x6 1090T @3.20 ghz with 8 gb ram with a AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series (latest drivers installed 12 hours ago)

This set up has run me perfect through 3 variations of XBMC / Kodi.

Several HVEC files play with mild but noticeable choppiness.
Audio is out of sync. (that is my issue to resolve)

This same machine has the latest VLC version on it.
When I use VLC for HVEC the choppiness disappears and the audio is sync'd.

This same machine runs the latest version of Plex Media Server.
I have a Roku upstairs with the Plex app installed and is networked via wifi and that plays the HVEC without choppiness and sync'd audio.

I am thinking maybe a complete removal of XBMC / Kodi and fresh install may clear this up.

I'm not reporting a bug because this may be poor housekeeping on my part.

Well, it was poor housekeeping on my part.

Complete uninstall, folder deletion in App Data, and fresh install of Kodi Helix Beta cleared up my issue.

Doing this may have been mentioned in the release post, but I am hard headed.

HVEC is smooth and it seems Kodi is smoother also.

Team members thoughts are in general not available, without a Debug Log
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

I get that.

Why guess?

100% of the time I have any issue, it is me that caused it.

That's why I noted it being an observation and not a bug.

I just tested a HVEC encoded file (preset medium CRF 17).
Plays perfectly on my AMD A10 6700, average CPU load over all cores is 25-30%. Peak is 50% when skipping/ff
