Ive just registered on the forum and im hoping someone can give me some advice regarding using a NAS drive with my ATV2 / XBMC

Until now I have been using my ATV2 with XBMC to stream content via Navi-X

I will soon be purchasing a NAS drive (possibly a Buffalo Linkstation) and I believe its possible to access content (videos etc) from the NAS and play through XBMC. Firstly is my understanding correct ?

If so, does the ATV2 need to be connected to the NAS / router via Ethernet or can it find and stream the content remotely ?

I have also just ordered a MacBook Pro and I believe I can access my NAS content through that and send to the ATV2 via Airplay which would be an alternative however this would mean having the MacBook running whenever streaming is taking place so i'd prefer to be able to access and stream content directly from the NAS to the ATV2

Please accept my apologies if any of the above doesn't make sense but as mentioned above im a complete newbie when it comes to NAS drives.
