TV Shows Duplicating
#1
Hi All,

I'm new to the forum - so "Hi".

I've recently intalled XBMC and it is working great.

I have an external hard drive which contains most of my media, however, on the desktop, I have some of the items duplicated (mainly TV shows) the external hard drive is my backup.

I want XBMC to scan both media folders (on the desktop and external hard drive). However, is there a way I can choose it to exclude certain folders on the external hard drive? I do not want it to play or pick up certain shows on the external HDD as they are already on the desktop. But I also do not want to delete the files from the external HDD as they're the backup.

Hopefully, if there is a way of excluding from XBMCs database when it scans for content, it will stop certain things duplicating in my library.

Many thanks!

I'd create a two top level directorys on your external hdd one you want to scan and one containing the shows you don't obviously only setting the one you want to scan as a source on xbmc

See the Set content and scan (wiki) page for how to mark and exclude specific folders from updates/scans.
