XBMC version check message
#1
Just yesterday XBMC is now starting up with this message:

"Version check: This XBMC version is out of support, a newer stable version of xbmc is available."
Now the animated backgrounds for the movies and tv shows with the latest additions widget panels show up blank. Anyway to fix this without upgrading? I just like this version and it works. I really dont want to upgrade and screw up settings.

The version check is an XBMC Add-on that is part of the system, but you can disable it.

Go to System > Settings > Add-ons > Enabled Add-Ons > Services > Version Check

then choose Disable

OK, done with last nightly:
KodiSetup-20141221-da8544b-Helix.exe 21-Dec-2014 19:42
Now, using version 14.0 RC 3 instead of 15.0 Alpha 1..
No more error with version check

perhaps you should check what you actually install/download. Either Helix or master builds

I always install (only) last nightly builds from:
http://mirrors.xbmc.org/nightlies/win32/

Until your remark I didn't noticed the difference between MASTER and HELIX

Thanks for the precision !

My only choice was the more recent source in the nightly list

If I understand well, MASTER is 15.0 Alpha and HELIX is 14.0 RC :
-> OK ?

correct. until a couple of weeks ago "master" was still 14.0 however that changed when we branched Helix off and switch master to 15.0
at the moment we also build Helix nightly. Hence they are mixed
