Hi,

i am using HTS Tvheadend 3.9.2000~ga9b1d17~trusty.

XBMC is the latest XBMC CD or on windows 13.2 or 14 beta2.

on all systems i have the same problem:

When i am watching HDTV the Picture is bad when it comes to quick action. I have a lot of pixels. The picture is lagging almost every 5sec.

When i do the same using VLC i have no problems at all.

Any idea what i can check or try?

Do you have a debug log? I've heard of other people having the same problem but don't know the cause yet. Do you get anything in tvheadend's logs when it happens?

Hi,

how to get a xbmc debug log, than i will provide it.

The TVH is not showing any errors. In the past i had some issues with a problematic signal, but this is solved and the TVH -> Status -> Subscription does not show any errors any more, just constant bitrate.

something addition i do not understand.

In Germany there are the channels:
Pro7, Sat1, RTL, Kabel1 and there sub channels.

Which always have these problems on HD. SD is always working fine.

CHannels like all the Sky channels and Discovery do not have such problems at all.

Hi,

i had a look into it again, and it looked for me that ffmpeg might cause the issue for the lagging.

Searching a bit i figured out that actually my system might be the problem?

I had installed the XBMCUbunut, but i somewhen have done a dist-upgrade so i am on Ubuntu 14.04 now which does not support ffmpeg any more bit avlib?

To check if a newer ffmpeg verion might help i add the PPA from: ppa:jon-severinsson/ffmpeg and installed the latest version.

Result:
No change.

Here's a further fragment from where the channel does open for 1-2 seconds before freezing up (seems that I can reliable get this to happen if I am switching from a channel already open, if I try to do it cold it just won't open):

Hi all.
I have problem with lagging of HD and full HD movies on my notebook Asus A6Ja with Lubuntu 14.10.
Look´s like my procesor((Intel Core Duo T2400 1,83 Ghz) is not powerfull for HD movie, in Kodi14.2 is 100% usage of both procesor core.

radeon mobility x1600(256MB VRAM)
RAM 3GB

On a second thought, it could also be that your GPU is simply so old that it doens't support hardware acceleration.

yeh, I was worried about GPU, that is so old. But what about CPU? is it old for HD movies as well? Is it reason to run loaded for 100%?

Playing 1080i is much more demanding than playing 1080p, plus I have a similar CPU on my laptop and it can barely play 720p.
