Crash when tapping
#1
I'm on an iPad2 with IOS 8.1 and the 13.2 Gotham release from the cydia repo.

Whenever I repeatedly tap at the very bottom bar of the screen (not on a button) XBMC will crash. It is easily repeatable (just tap like crazy at the bottom bar, sometimes happens faster if opening Music first but also works on home screen, sometimes only 10 taps are needed, sometimes a lot more...). Is anyone else able to reproduce this? I have tried all skins (touched/re-touched/confluence) and they all crash the same way.

Confluence crashes, but seems to need more vigorous tapping at times, or going to settings, and back.

I usually use Re-touched, but Touched crashes as well.

Wish I could give more precise instructions other than fast wild tapping at the bottom but that's what does it. Takes less than 10 seconds most times.

My CrashReporter folder is full of the same type of reports.

Well what is the reason for tapping wildly on the bottom bar? Just in case i can't manage to fix it? (Also is this also Happening with latest kodi Helix beta3?)

It would occasionally crash when I was tapping normally, so I tried to reproduce the crash by tapping all over the place trying to find a cause. After wildly tapping, it reproducibly crashed, but without any obvious rhyme or reason (yet).

I don't have beta 3 on my iPad. I don't think I can run it along side v13 and I don't want to lose what works.

(side note: I noticed that 13.2 IOS came with Re-touched v3 Helix skin, which doesn't look right on 13.2 (need 2.1.1). I'm trying to avoid more incompatibilities)

Please post the full crashlog to pastebin.com and put the link in here. I can't reproduce this neither on ipad mini retina ios 8.1 nor on ipad2 running ios6.1.2. Both running Gotham 13.2-3

Sadly those crashlogs don't help at all (even symbolicated). Its crashing inside libcpluff which is used for handling all our addons. Does this crash also happen on a clean install? (move away /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC and try).

Yes. I moved XBMC folder to XBMC1 and restarted (uses Touched skin) and it crashes after rapid tapping at bottom. (not near exit button)

Sorry mate - nothing i can do for you. (crashlog doesn't give me any hint whats going on and i am tapping my fingers sore without getting this problem reproduced with my device/ios constellations...).

I can't compile for IOS.

Is there a non-symbol-stripped/debug version of the binary somewhere, or would that not give better stacktraces on ios?

No i have symbolicated them. Thats as much symbols as i can get:

As said - it gives no real clue and doesn't make sense (and touching is not even involved afais).

Thanks for looking into it.

Maybe it is something on IOS8.1 on 32bit iPad2 that is different from your 64bit Mini2 IOS8.1 device.

Don't know what else I could do to narrow it down.
