I've been testing out Kodi 14 beta on a Sumvision Cyclone X4 Android box, which uses the S805 SOC, and I've noticed that there is a fairly loud audio glitch like a burst of static at the start of playback of any Dolby 5.1 source when passthrough is enabled. The same noise is heard at every seek forward through the source. Passthough works as expected after the glitch. The glitch does not occur when passthrough is off. I am using HDMI to pass the audio to my a/v amplifier.
The noise glitch does not happen using SPMC 13.3. on the same hardware with passthrough on, but it does occur with an older Helix alpha 1 I also have.
I had a quick search of the bug tracker and didn't see anything and I'm not sure if this is just an Android thing or is specific to this box because I don't have anything else to compare.
I can do more tests with different sources, e.g. AAC 5.1, DTS 5.1 or submit a debug log if anyone is interested.
