Thinking on buying the Lenovo ideacentre q190 for htpc w plex and kodi as sell as basic browsing.

Is there a better value prebuilt system out there than this?

Also wondering if its hdd can be switched for an ssd. Would connect other drives vía usb for now as i don't have a nas yet.

I don't think there is any other windows HTPC at this price point($150 when it is on sale). You can also find Asus Vivopc which is almost same as q190 for the same price(when it is on sale).

I think you can swap the internal HD for SSD. But if you are primarily using it for Kodi, I don't see a need for it if you use the sleep mode which is almost instant on/off.

I had a ideacentre q190, a couple of years ago,
i swapped the hard drive for an SSD, added more ram, with win 7.
make it a really fast machine,

i only sold it when the nucs came out.

Ok...will buy this system and upgrade ram and hdd to ssd and stick an external hdd to it for media until i can buy a nas.

Please confirm this configuration will work:

RAM: http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-ValueRAM-...NH3SLWCOH4

SSD: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-250GB-2-5-...a+2.5-Inch

Also thinking of buying the logitech wireless keyboard: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DKZ...PDKIKX0DER

Will i have to change the Operating System by upgrading to 8gb ram?
