Can't get to developer mode
#1
Months ago I installed xbmc on my Asus Chromebox, using this guide (dual boot w/ Chrome and openelec):

Since then, I'm trying to revert the Chromebox back to its original, out-of-the-box state, it looked like it worked, but I got stuck trying to access developer mode. I press and hold the restore button, press the power button; then it comes to the "Chrome OS is missing or damaged" screen, but Ctrl-D doesn't do anything. Did I miss a step? Here's captures of the screen it comes to:

to do a factory restore, you just need to insert the recovery media (created using google's recovery tool / chrome app) on the 'ChromeOS is missing' screen after powering on with the recover button depressed, as you did.

Yes, that's what I did. It installed from the usb drive and completed successfully. Afterward, I removed the usb drive and it rebooted directly into Chrome. I entered my account information and all appeared to be well.

Next, I was attempting another install, but when I tried getting into developer mode...ctrl-d had no effect. The 'ChromeOS is missing' screen shows the three lines of text that I didn't think was displayed on the out-of-the-box version; it looks like this:

I'm not sure if it helps, but here's a capture of the partitioning after restoring:
