Ive just updated from 10.1 to 13.2 to get iPlayer working.

Now I just cannot get my Original XBOX DVD remote to work anymore, from what Ive read it is no longer compatible.

So.... New remote time. Smile

Any one know if this will work out of the box with Gotham 13.2 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduc...=GX-028-CP

Or any advice on a reasonably priced remote that will work.

I spent 3 hours trying to get this to work in the same way as I managed to in previous releases.
Then spent a while reading around, to see why and came across a few posts saying its not compatible any more.

I'm honestly not sure, which is why I was interested in hearing who had said it wasn't working. From my own quick searches just now, it looks like the issue might be due to recent versions of Ubuntu not using Lirc by default. Lirc should still support the original Xbox DVD remote. A user came up with this guide that I think is still up-to-date about installing Lirc: HOW-TO:Set up an MCE remote control in Linux (wiki)

I've got mine still, so I'll try to find my MCE receiver and see if I can test it myself. It might be old, but it's a darn good remote :D

If it doesn't work, or if you need a remote right away, it does look like the remote in your link will work just fine, assuming it really is MCE certified.

Thanks for the link.

I had the remote working in 9.11 then 10.1 each time took a little more hassle to get working.
Like I say I spent 3 hours yesterday and couldn't figure it out.

I'm taking the easy option now and buy an RC6 compatible remote. which should work out of the box. hopefully also in future releases.

Also seen these in a local Maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/windows-media-...trol-a49ha which according to this wiki page http://kodi.wiki/view/Remote_control_reviews "should" work Smile

For any one interested.

This remote from Maplin http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/windows-media-...trol-a49ha works perfectly out of the box with XBMCBuntu Gotham 13.2
Even the sleep and wake didnt take any configuring.
