Wish there was a way to only show recordings and get rid of all other menu options.

I am surprised there is not a hide TV menu option. I could then add a Recordings video source.

My 4 yo has xbmc on his laptop and I would prefer he only had access to the recordings

you need to disable the PVR feature in Settings > Live TV > Enabled

But that means the recordings are not available anymore. I want the recordings but not the Live TV portion. I realise I can probably achieve what I am after with a different skin.

I hacked the confluence skin to remove everything except for recordings and settings menu options. I disabled live tv within the mythtv plugin itself (as extra security).

The settings are locked down. I hacked the power button to not display the Enter master mode, as it will be too confusing for a four year old.

Now he has just his recordings and nothing else to look at or see.

Happy now

He got it for his 4th birthday. Has Edubuntu on it. He has xbmc to watch his ABC 4 Kids programmes (Australian ABC, not USA)

I actually just found a better option than hacking the confluence skin
