I am sorry I may have placed this in the wrong place...I feel like you all are speaking in a foreign language. I am 71 and am clueless on what I am doing with my new xbmc box. I bought a key to install it, but the program tells me it cannot connect to the server because of artwork rotation thread, error 11001. Before I ship this back to Amazon Prime, can anyone tell me what I can do to fix the problem short of re-installing (if I even can). Thank you.

Hi - Kodi (formerly XBMC) itself doesn't sell any boxes nor require any installation keys. So it's best to get in touch with the boxes vendor. If you tell us which box you got some community members might be able to assist - but as said, it's probably better to contact the box vendor.

I'm guessing that you bought a box that the reseller or vendor called "fully loaded" which by they meant it is preloaded with piracy addons.

And you are now probably the same situation as old timer in this other thread here http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=210366

If that is the case then you first need to understand that XBMC/Kodi does not actually come "fully loaded" preloaded with piracy addons.

Those piracy addons are written by other third-party people and it is the box reseller or vendor who have preinstalled those themselves.

All the people here can only legally help you with non-piracy addons or accessing media files that you already downloaded yourself.


No offense but if you are not tech-savvy yourself and you are no tech-savvy friends to help you then XBMC/Kodi is probably not for you.

In general terms XBMC/Kodi falls into the "Home Theater PC" category which is a niche that normally mostly appeals to techies.
