Cannot change Fonts from Skin default
#1
Hi,

I'm trying to change the Fonts from Skin defaults in order to support Hebrew, however, when I go to Settings -> Appearance -> Skin, the Fonts field is grey an cannot be selected or changed from the 'Skin default'. Any idea why that is? My settings level is Expert if that matters.

Thanks!

Same problem here (to add support for Korean in Aeon Nox). The very same field is greyed out so I can't change the 'Skin Default' font.
Any help welcome.

It is greyed out because there is only one available font set. You would need to add a new font set to Fonts.xml first.

Thanks for the reply.
I was hoping for a somewhat easier solution. I guess I'll have to dive in this page http://kodi.wiki/view/Fonts and hope not to write something too stupid in that XML file. Wink

Check out what I did in the Mimic skin. I added a fontset for Arial even though I don't include the Arial.ttf file with the skin. It references the font file included with the Kodi install.

Since Mimic is based on Aeon Nox, you can probably get most of the way there by simply copying the Arial section (starts on line 482) from Mimic's Fonts.xml into your own.

Thanks Bryanbrazil, it did the trick.
I have to admit the police is not as attractive as the one originally chosen for the theme, but at least, the Korean titles do become legible.

Hey Noddles, do you mind sharing the modified XML file please. The inability to display Hebrew type is the only thing stopping me using this skin full time. There are some very good Google fonts which resemble the Roboto Latin characters.
Thanks.
