XBMC won't show external subtitle over UPnP
#1
I'm using XBMC 13.2

I have :

Code:
/home/$USER/Videos/videofile.mkv
/home/$USER/Videos/videofile.srt

I've shared `Videos` folder over UPnP stream.

When I play that video from my Smart TV it won't show subtitle!!!

Any ideas?

1. Are you sure your smart TV can actually handle external subtitles?
2. Why do you play them directly with your TV instead of in XBMC?

Yes I'm sure. Because when I play that with USB Flash Disk, subtitle works well.

Also subtitle works well with MiniDLNA over UPnP stream.

XBMC installed on my Laptop. I need to show them on TV over UPnP stream.

when it plays from the usb disc it's not playing over upnp. there is no standardized way to do external subs over upnp.

@kamrava: if all you need is a UPnP server, why not use MiniDLNA?

MiniDLNA is good but has one problem :
- We can't have multiple media path in MiniDLNA!

So, I need to use XBMC over MiniDLNA...

Plex server is free for PC that has the media. LG Smart TV's have the client embedded by default! Subtitles work like a charm and are autodownloaded if the Plex server is setup properly!
