Hi all,
I have a HTPC with Ubuntu and XBMC and I would like to know how to improve image quality using filters such as lumasharpen.
The problem is that all information I find is related to Windows systems.
How can I use lumasharpen with DVDPlayer under Linux?

Many thanks for your answer, fritsch,
I understand that if I want to do this I have to left Linux and use Windows since under linux there is no support for those features.
What do you reccomend me? XBMC + MPC HC, XBMC + DS Player?

I have no idea of the windows state with external players.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Yeah, I could not really help you much :-)
It's technically not so easy to get the data back from the hwdecoder after decoding prior to rendering.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
