Probably someone already asked about cinemascope but I couldn't find the request.
Yes ,I used the search but it didn't get me far.

CIH setup users are in the minority but ...we still exist.

I'm aware of resolution solution for us using the zoom method (changing resolution to 800/816p) but that results in squashed XBMC menus and thumbnails ...

So , it would be nice to have Kodi on scope screens / 2.40:1 or 2.35:1 with normal looking graphical interface.

I hope it can be done.

kodi deals just fine with it. somebody just has to make a skin with the aspect.

Not sure if it was Doghouse or someone else but apparently at least someone was working on a cinemascope skin called "Numax" but there are no more no news on it that I can find now.

There are also supose to be ports of other skins for "CIH" format when using a anamorphic lens, more about that on DoghouseCinema blog http://doghousecinema.com

Tip; it's a little hard to search for "2.35:1" (2.35) and "2.40:1" (2.40) so might be better to try searching for "cinemascope" or "anamorphic" instead, checkout these threads:

I did create a skin a few years ago called " Numax-Pure Cinema" but as of now its kinda outdated. If theres any real interest in this project i could try to polish it up and release it.

The skin has change alot since i posted a video on youtube.
