http://kodi.wiki/view/Wake_on_lan <- use that to delay xbmc's start to wait for your network connection.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Oooo many thanks Fritsch it works!!

And one more question....how to enable PVR add-on (VU+) ? - it is not present in the add-on library as usually on Android, OpenElec and Windows.

Thank you

Used apt upgrade to migrate to Kodi, and now I am seeing two entries for Kodi while logging in.

The issue is that installing or upgrading to Kodi results in a Kodi desktop file, and a linkfile (displayed as "Kodi" but actually called xbmc.desktop) pointing to the same file in /usr/share/xsessions/

I managed to fix this:

In terminal, run sudo unlink /usr/share/xsessions/xbmc.desktop

rm would have worked as well Wink

unlink doesn't do what you might think - remove a symlink - it rather calls the unlink() systemcall, which is a low level file delete function.

Any chance of getting the .DEB file for this, so I can update my 13.2 based install? Thanks in advance.

I love the ubuntu distro so much! The skins for KODI are getting awesome.

Still needs better GUI for media browsing, don't like the old style dos business.... And I'd love access to a browser.

But it's still great.
