Surround sound

The x530s sound great and no I do not have them hooked to the plasma in my bedroom. They are hooked up to my PC via my Creative X-Fi extremegamer Soundcard. Anything newer then the x530s really sound awful compared to these. Logitech has dropped the ball on sound quality with the speakers that have come after the x530s. Like I said earlier I have the PS3 hook up via HDMI to my PC monitor then have a 3.5mm cable going from the headphone out on the Monitor to the line input on my soundcard and it gives me stereo doing that. But we are in the process of getting a new place by either putting one in or moving to another house. So I am not worried about 5.1 right now. IF anything I will be picking up a Vizio 5.1 soundbar for the bedroom TV for movies/games on the big screen.

I can pick up this set for £70 Panasonic Surround Sound

Could I then eventually bin off the dvd player and switch to an amp but keep the speakers if i wanted at a later date?

I had a question about this speaker and set up. I have a PS4 and Samsung LN52A650. I have another speaker set up, a CYBER ACOUSTICS 2 speaker set up with a sub connected now and it sounds great, but I wanted a more surround sound type quality. We live in a medium size apartment and have a good size living room. My question is how to get the best set up with these.

I currently am using this connector to convert the headphone jack to RCA to give the sound a fuller feel (ie the mids were missing)

I also have a TRITTON PRO+ gaming headset with decoder box that outputs to 5.1 DOLBY:

Now...here is my question hopefully it makes sense:

If I take the logitech speakers and plug them where they need to be at, and then I take the three audio cables and plug them into the back of the sub:

(on the top portion the Lime Green, Black and Orange inputs)
and plug them into the back of the decoder box, and then plug the optical cable to the TV (or should I plug the optical digital cable to the PS4?)
My question is will that work?
Will I get sound from the speakers? Will it be surround sound?

I hope that question makes sense, let me know if I need to explain more. Thanks!

You would have to go from the decoders output to the subs input with 3 3.5mm cables and I would hook up the PS4 to the decoder unless you know for a fact that your TV outputs dolby digital via SPDIF but I doubt the TV does seeing as how Samsung never does. You should get proper 5.1 from the PS4 hooked up to the decoder via Toslink cable.
