Anyone know if the series recording feature is supported in the new Kodi release?

Yes, it is included in Kodi, but it will only work for supported skins like Confluence.
Other skins that are supported are: Ace, Aeon Nox 5, AeonMQ5, Amber and Transparency.
Note that I haven't recently tested the addon with the other mentioned skins, so I'm not sure if it still works in Kodi.
