Bug RC3 breaks live streams
#1
I've noticed that streams which work on earlier versions no longer work in RC3, instead they just sit with the buffer gauge at 0%

I'm using the Simple IPTV addon with this mru list:
Code:
#EXTM3U

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-logo"AlJazeeraEnglish.png" tvg-name="Al Jazeera English", Al Jazeera (English).
rtmp://aljazeeraflashlivefs.fplive.net:1935/aljazeeraflashlive-live?videoId=883816736001&lineUpId=&pubId=665003303001&playerId=751182905001&affiliateId=/aljazeera_eng_high?videoId=883816736001&lineUpId=&pubId=665003303001&playerId=751182905001&affiliateId=.flv live=1

I've tried this in both Android and OpenELEC and it's the same story

Here is debug log from RC3 where it doesn't play http://sprunge.us/MMgC
and here is one from RC1 where it does play http://sprunge.us/YJFC

It may well be, but that's not the point: a pretty major bug has been introduced which breaks a lot of these streams, pirate or not. I am not asking for support of a piracy addon, just providing an example of how to reproduce the issue.

The problem exists on all platforms (just tested it on Windows with the latest nightly) and was introduced on the nightly build of Dec 5: the Dec 4 build is OK. I have had a look at github and this commit sticks out as one with potential for doing the damage although I may well be wrong:

Can someone have a serious look at this please?

Yes it is a point (if you interested about being taken seriously) if you complain that its broken provide non pirate site links for testing freely.

Also, it is against the forum rules to post such links and you have done so anyway...

I've changed the link in my original post, but I still don't know if this is a pirate site or not.

I have now confirmed that it is indeed this commit which breaks some live tv streams: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/commit/593a...0ae76bfbd8

I built OpenELEC master from source for Amlogic TV110 from Kerber's repository, reverting this commit (basically commented out 1 line) and now the streams start successfully.

Should I raise a bug ticket or PM the developer (FernetMenta) to get some attention on this?

If you play the m3u without iptv simple it will work.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
